Wellington Noteworthy

It has been a long time since I posted here. Again. I’m going to remedy that with not one but six new posts. I’ll schedule them to roll out over the next week or two.

First up is a selection of more interesting aircraft taken at Wellington International Airport since my last post in July 2023.

First up is, I think, my first decent photo of one of Life Flight Trust’s ‘new’ Beechcraft Super King Air B200s, ZK-LFL.

The same day I snapped the above aircraft, I also got lucky to see the Wellington-based BAC 167 Strikemaster, NZ6372 (ZK-STR) starting up. Another photographer present told me it would make the short trip to Masterton and return, so I hung around and captured its return as well.

This Air New Zealand Airbus A320neo, ZK-NHE, spent many days on the western apron having a troublesome engine seen to. I happened to show up as they were preparing to tow it back to the terminal to re-enter service.

The last three photos I’m just going to leave to the captions to describe…

Skyline Aviation’s Beechcraft Super King Air B200C, ZK-PLK, has recently received a new colour scheme.
Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign, ZK-RXD, has its gear tucked up well before it crosses the threshold, taking off on RWY16.
