Paya Lebar

Yikes! Almost 5 months since I posted anything. Blame life, I guess. But life also granted me a two week holiday recently, which included a week in Singapore. I took the opportunity on one of the last days there to pay a visit to The Air Force Museum at Paya Lebar Air Base, one of many homes of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).

The museum has a reasonably small collection of aircraft, some outside on poles and the rest in a covered area. The covered area forms the ground floor of the sole building, which also houses a great selection of artefacts and information displays covering the entire history of the RSAF — which only stretches back to 1968.

I have published a photo of every manned aircraft present (there were some UAVs and missiles, also) on my Flickr page, but here are a few to whet your appetite.

Hawker Hunter FGA.74S, Air Force Museum (KP190487)

Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star, Air Force Museum (KP190506)

Cessna 172K Skyhawk, Air Force Museum (KP190511)

Coming up soon will be the result of a few hours watching airliners at Changi Airport.
